Seaton Sluice Art Club
is a non-profit making Community Group of local Amateur/Hobby Artists.
We hold our sessions every Wednesday morning in Seaton Sluice Community Centre, Albert Road, Seaton Sluice, in south-east Northumberland, and are registered with Northumberland County Council.
We currently have approximately 24 members, mostly retired members of the local community, of mixed experience and ability, but the vast majority of our members are extremely talented artists in a wide variety of mediums.
Our annual Art Exhibition is very successful, our most recent exhibition in November 2010 was our best yet with almost 100 paintings being exhibited.
We often exhibit at The Bottleworks Exhibition, usually held twice yearly at the end of May and the end of August, in St Paul's Church Hall, Seaton Sluice.
Last year, 2011, was the Centenary of Seaton Sluice Community Centre (formerly Seaton Sluice First School) which opened on 27th February 1911. To celebrate this Centenary there was a whole weekend of Art and Craft Exhibitons and other exciting events in and around the Community Centre, and which coincided with Heritage Weekend.
This celebratory weekend was on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2011, and included a two day Art Exhibition by Seaton Sluice Art Club. Example of standard of artwork by one of our members is shown below.
